I have too much jewelry… SAID NO WOMAN, EVER!
Though I do admit, it’s kind of ridiculous how much costume jewelry I’ve collected over the years. Thanks to super affordable options from places like Forever 21, Target, H&M and the like, it’s really easy to justify the purchase of a new sparkly bauble… or three.
A bracelet for $3.80? I can’t even get a latte for that price!”
The only problem with having so much jewelry, is having no good way to store it. From tangled necklaces to bracelets forever forgotten at the bottom of a pile, there had to be a better way to keep everything neat and in clear view.
I started my hunt for the best jewelry organization possible. I looked into jewelry boxes, jewelry trees and even lucite jewelry displays (like the ones you see in boutiques) but they either fell short in capacity or were pretty expensive. It wasn’t until my annual post-holiday trip to IKEA last year (to stock up on dirt cheap wrapping paper, of course) that I came across the perfect solution.
This, my friends, is the IKEA Vintermys Decoration Stand. There was a sky-high pile of these things at my IKEA last year, looking all useless in their post-holiday state. Marked down to just $0.99, I almost walked right by them, when suddenly a cartoon light bulb appeared over my head. These were going to become my simple, sturdy and high capacity jewelry stands.
Made of sturdy metal, taking less than a minute to put together and with no additional effort required, this IKEA hack was so easy, I’ll go ahead and call it an instant hack. I got a crazy post-holiday deal, but IKEA brought these back again this holiday season at the super reasonable full price of just $2.99. (UPDATE 11/30/15: This year, they’re back, but now they’re $3.99.)
Not only are they incredibly functional, but how pretty do they look?
Keep in mind that this is a seasonal item, so if you’re looking to recreate this hack, get to your local IKEA soon!

I love finding genius new uses for things! And this is so perfect for jewelry! I also have the same problem of not having too much jewelry… I just don’t have enough space to display it all 😉
Found you through the Work it Wednesday link up!
