Closet Challenge. Sick Day.

I feel absolutely miserable. I woke up with a sore throat, extremely phlegmy with chills and body aches, but I had to get up and go to work. At first there was no way I was going to get in front of the camera feeling like this, but then I decided to take on the challenge. Rather than basing it on a piece of clothing as my other C.C.’s have, I based it on how I felt today. I call this Closet Challenge, Sick Day. Just because you’re feeling like poo, doesn’t mean you have to look like it… completely.

Today’s outfit is about looking put together (quickly) rather than setting trends. My outfit started with a dose of DayQuil and a hot cup of tea. Once medicated and hydrated I went to the closet. When you’re sick you want to be comfortable and warm so my big heather gray top fit the bill. I’m quite lucky that I work in a very casual environment, so naturally I threw on a pair of leggings with the top (They are comfortable and not considered a crime, as long as you’re wearing a shirt that covers your butt.) There was no way I was washing my hair this morning, so I quickly took some dry shampoo and a curling iron to my locks and threw on a hat. My trusty tall black boots are where it’s at on days like today. Easy to wear and comfortable. Arm party, big earrings and sunnies were a must. They distract from the overall “sick look” on your face, while making it look like you actually tried. Finally, my jacket served as a tissue holder, while my metallic scarf added something to look at other than the boogie unintentionally hanging from my nose.
