It’s not because I don’t like Halloween and it’s certainly not because I couldn’t come up with a clever costume, but this year I didn’t dress up. Honestly, Halloween just snuck up on me (tomorrow is November! Crazy!) So in lieu of a costume, I decided to try a new outfit I found last month on fabsugar.
I picked up that skirt during my Missoni for Target haul, and I loved the way she styled it. Coincidentally, I’ve had the same boots sitting in my closet for about 3 years along with a similar dark brown cardi. Once I blatantly copied most of the outfit (imitation is the highest form of flattery), I decided to add a few touches of my own. I added a lighter brown scoop neck under the cardigan to play to the lighter brown of the boots. I completely admit, I love to (sometimes) be “matchy-matchy” and the scarf accomplished that. Some gold jewelry and my oh-so-comfortable jersey coat completed my spin on the look.
So maybe I didn’t dress in costume for Halloween, but I did dress like someone else. Happy Halloween!
